About Us Compassion, experience and understanding since 1978. Book An Appointment Our Story Amherst Physical Therapy was founded in 1978 in Amherst, NY and was one of the first outpatient clinics in Buffalo not attached to a hospital. The office moved to a stand alone clinic in North Buffalo at the corner of Delaware and Amherst St. in 1981 keeping its name. In 1988, with the need for additional space, the practice moved to its present location on Delaware Avenue in the Delaware Place Plaza.
