About Our Story We Are Not Your Typical Wedding Planners Downey Street Events was started by Lauren Geissler and Emily de Ayora, two best friends who met while attending Stanford Law School. While they both spent much of their time planning events, they didn’t consider turning event planning into a career. Instead their talents manifested themselves in elegant dinner parties, elaborately painted Christmas cookies, fine art and music, and meticulously run fundraisers and campaigns.
