Home to Doc Young and his Drugstore in the 1920’s, one of the few owned and operated by an African American pharmacist. Hillside Drugstore closed in the 70’s, after many incarnations including a barber shop, a bookstore and Gene's Po Boys, not much of the original drug store remained, except a small section of cabinetry behind the bar.
