ABOUT US Our History In 1975, Don Sacramento Rodriguez opened one of the first Mexican restaurants in the United States, in the city of Athens, Georgia. There, he created along his wife Josephine, also known as, Doña Pepa, the most delicious recipes inspired by their hometown Jalisco, Mexico. Together they named the restaurant El Azteca.
